Feminist economics is a research approach that includes a variety of theoretical perspectives. Its distinctive feature is the use of gender in research. Using gender relations as an analytical framework, feminist economists try to examine social norms and the root causes of inequalities. Contemporary feminist economists work to broaden the view of the economy, placing people’s lives at the center of the discipline’s research, paying attention to inequalities based on gender, race, origin, or sexual orientation. Feminist economists define economics as a science concerned with social provisioning, reintroducing the social element. This broader definition of provisioning, used by feminist economists, encompasses not only market goods and services but also social and familial activities, emphasizing the social aspect over the individual.
We invite researchers to submit articles presenting both empirical research results and theoretical analyses. Please submit papers in English using the perspective of feminist economics, especially, but not exclusively, in the areas of:
• paid and unpaid work, including care work;
• economic and social inequalities;
• macroeconomics and gender;
• Polish economic transition;
• history of economic thought and economic history;
• new technologies;
• economy, environment and development.
