Use of AI in the Research Process

Policy on the Use of AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) may be used for data collection and analysis, literature searches, the preparation of code, tables and figures, and language editing and translation. It must not replace the authors’ intellectual contribution or generate the first draft of the article or any part thereof, including the interpretation of results, conclusions and recommendations. The fabrication of data, sources or research materials is prohibited.
Authors must verify all AI-assisted outputs and bear full responsibility for the article. AI tools must not be listed as authors.
The use of AI must be disclosed in a declaration specifying the tool used and the scope of its use. Research applications must also be described in the methodology section. Where generative AI is used to prepare graphs or diagrams, this must be disclosed in the corresponding captions. Only basic language correction that does not alter the substantive content is exempt from disclosure.

If AI was used:
The authors used [tool name and version] for [purpose and scope of use]. They have verified the outputs, confirm that their use of AI complies with the journal’s policy, and bear full responsibility for the content of the article. Research applications are described in the methodology section.

If AI was not used or was used solely for basic language correction:
The authors did not use AI in any way that requires disclosure under the journal’s policy.
