Special Issue: “Political economy in Central and Eastern Europe”
Call for papers

Guest editor: Jan Fałkowski, University of Warsaw, Poland

This special issue invites papers that contribute to better understand political economy processes in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The region continues to attract the attention of researchers due to both its impressive economic performance and the dynamics of its political processes. At the same time, because of a rich diversity of historical legacies, the region provides extremely fruitful ground for testing existing theories on the interplay between politics and the economy and the impact that specific institutional arrangements can exert over the longer term.

The special issue welcomes contributions from all fields of political economy, broadly defined. Papers can address contemporary and historical questions and all methodologies are welcome. In particular we invite contributions on the following themes: voting and elections, legislatures and democratic institutions, political conflict and inequality, cultural clashes and economic discontent.
