Aims & Scope

"Ekonomista" is a general-interest economics journal that publishes original research advancing understanding of economies, economic policy, and economic thought. We welcome theoretical and empirical contributions—quantitative, qualitative, experimental, and computational - that meet high standards of rigor and clarity. Submissions are considered in English and Polish and are evaluated in a double-blind peer-review process; final decisions rest with the Editorial Board.

The journal is open to work on all fields of economics and to interdisciplinary research grounded in economics (e.g., political economy, law & economics, economic history, feminist economics). While we have a long tradition of publishing research on Poland and Central & Eastern Europe, we welcome studies with broader international relevance. Ekonomista primarily publishes research articles and also features scholarly discussions, review essays, and book reviews.

Representative areas of coverage include: micro and macroeconomics; labour and education; industrial organization and competition; public economics and fiscal policy; monetary economics; international trade and finance; development and transition; environmental and resource economics; regional and urban economics; innovation and productivity; econometrics and data science; economic history and the history/methodology of economics; political economy; law & economics; and gender-aware analyses of economies.
